Queen Elizabeth N.P – 5 Nights/6 Days

Thrilling Game Drive & launch trip in Queen Elizabeth National Park, Male and Female lionChimpanzee tracking in the Kyambura Gorge, Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi.

With this tour, you can come in through Entebbe International Airport and depart through Kigali International Airport. You will be able to explore the big five, over 95 mammals’ species and over 612 bird species in Queen Elizabeth in this very short time.

Day 1: Queen Elizabeth Park

Pick up from your overnight accommodation in Kampala or from Entebbe Airport and transfer west, passing via Mpambire drum makers where you will buy some crafts then head to the Uganda Equator for a stop over, relax and take pictures. Lunch at the Igongo Cultural Centre in Mbarara, continue through the bottom of the East African Rift Valley arriving in Queen Elizabeth Park for dinner and overnight. Meals and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge or Mweya Institute of Ecology. Meal Plan – Lunch and Dinner. Transit time: 4 – 6 hrs.

Day 2: Game Drive, Launch Trip

After an early morning breakfast, proceed for a game drive through the Kasenyi area where Kobs have their mating grounds and here you will have a high chance of seeing cats in action. Head on to the Northern crater where you may see Elephants, Buffaloes, Warthogs, Baboons, Waterbucks and lots more wildlife. Return for lunch at the lodge and in the afternoon, take a launch trip along the Kazinga Channel, here, it is a paradise of birdlife: Grey Heroine, Pied king Fishers, and Fish Eagles, Thick nee, Yellow Pulowed Stock, Bladen Ibis, Grey Headed King Fisher, Egyptian Geese, Golias, Heroin, Great White Pelican, Egyptian Sparoing, Red Cormorant and African Jacinth. You may see other animals cooling off: Buffaloes and Warthogs, Elephants, etc. Meals and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge or Mweya Institute of Ecology Meal Plan – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking

Morning Chimpanzee tracking in the Kyambura gorge; Escorted by a ranger guide, the 16km long, 100 meters deep gorge is found in the escarpments of the Western Rift Valley. You may also see black and white Colobus monkeys, Baboons and other primates. Return for a refreshing drink and lunch at the lodge. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge or Mweya Institute of Ecology Hostel. Meal Plan – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 4: To Bwindi

Transfer to the Gorilla Sanctuary of Bwindi arriving in time for lunch at the lodge, in the evening either relax for tomorrow’s day long tracking or take a self – guided walk along the Munyanga River, enjoying the beautiful sunset. Meal Plan – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner; Meals and overnight at Gorilla Forest Camp or Buhoma Homestead. Transit time 3 – 4 hrs.

Day 5: Gorilla Tracking

After breakfast, briefing from park ranger guides before starting your Gorilla trek through steeply forested and beautiful landscape along several animal trails. The climax of the adventure is the opportunity to view the gentle and endangered mountain Gorillas which is an exciting and memorable experience. Meals and overnight at Gorilla Forest Camp or Buhoma Homestead. Meal Plan – Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

Day 6: Kampala

After Breakfast, return to Kampala. Lunch will be en-route. Transit time 7 -8 hrs.
